Cadet Third Class Daniel Edward Murphy ("Murphy")
November 27, 1980 - April 1, 2001

Daniel was only four days old when he was adopted by Harrison and Terry Murphy.  Raised in Houston, Texas, Daniel was a 1999 honor graduate from Dobie High School where he was involved in numerous clubs and activities.  Daniel played varsity soccer and was a kicker on the football team until his junior year.  Additionally, he was the Deputy Cadet Commander for the Civil Air Patrol.  In his senior year, Daniel received appointments to both the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy.  He chose to enroll in the USAF Academy Class of 2003.  While attending USAFA Dan was a member of the Academy Rugby Team, "The Zoomies".

Daniel will always be remembered by the "Big" heart he had for others, defending the underdog and never looking back.  Daniel's infectious smile that brightened our days will never by forgotten.  He was much loved by his mother, Terry,  and father, Harrison.  Great grrandmother Buena,  grandparents, D.E. and Annette Pennington, aunts and uncles, Charles and Marjorie, Mike and Wanda, J.L., Pat and Gordon.  His precious cousins loved him dearly.  DANIEL, you will not be forgotten!
